Weekend Events
Heading into the weekend, there are multiple events going on around the state. Whether it’s showcases or All-Star type games or teams gearing up for summer ball with practices and tryouts before Easter break leads us into a live period only a couple weeks after. We’ll be out and about to see different events and gear up for the summer as well.
Bayou State Showcase
South Hoopfest is putting on it’s annual Bayou State Showcase for players from classes 2016-2018 and it’ll be at the Xavier University Convocation Center in New Orleans. There is sure to be coaches from different levels whether it be JUCO or NAIA and the opportunity for players to prove themselves. Word is the girls side is sold out at a different location and the boys side is getting close as well. It’ll be a top notch event that always runs smooth.
Battle of the Stars
Louisiana Cares Foundation is putting on the Battle of the Stars that includes a Dunk Contest and Three Point Contest on Friday Night at St. Louis High School at 5:30 followed by the Underclassmen and Senior Games at 5:00 on Saturday at the same location. It’ll have players from Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas mixed together to play against each other and is a great event for anyone in the Southwest region looking for a good cause to support.
i20 Classic
The i20 Classic will feature some of the best senior prospects from North Louisiana. The rosters were announced and it’s sure to be entertaining for anyone up north looking for something to do the Saturday night before Easter. The 8th annual event will be held at the Centenary Gold Dome in Shreveport and will showcase the talent that made multiple deep runs into the playoffs. Come out and support the seniors and the community.
