The 6-foot-1 guard ranked No. 25 in the Prep Hoops Top 100 is drawing interest from multiple of Div. I schools including Evansville, Ball State, Indiana State, Murray State, IUPUI, Dayton, Ole Miss and even Indiana. This interest has already led to three offers from Ball State, Buffalo and New Orleans.
It isn’t surprising given Landers wingspan and ability to attack the basket from the point position.
“They like I’m more a bigger guard and can play defense, pressure the ball,” Landers said about what college coaches have told him. “They like how I control the team, too.”
The Cathedral junior is still early in his recruitment process. He has taken an unofficial visit to Ball State and plans to take an unofficial to New Orleans, which he said he really likes the Privateers.. He is waiting until this summer to begin to take official visits and while he isn’t positive when he will make a decision he won’t hesitate to commit early.
“I might make one over the summer if I get the right one,” Lander said.
For now, he is continuing to improve his game as the high school season ends and the summer AAU circuit starts.
“I’m just working on being a leader on and off the court and working on my jumpshot,” he said.
