Continue ReadingCurie 2017 small forward Terry Smith is a prospect we liked over the summer and he has continued to progress. The 6’5” wing plays mostly inside for Curie, but is very effective. He lives above the rim snatching rebounds and finishing with explosion. Knows how to use his physicality on the interior to make things happen. Plus offensive rebounder that gets put backs. Doesn’t play much on the perimeter for high school team, but does have some skill there as we saw on the grassroots circuit. Low-major schools should take notice of this junior.
Smith has been a force on the boards this year. He talked about his season.
“I am playing well. I have to stay consistent on the boards getting rebounds and getting points in general. I see my role being a rebounder. Let the game come to me. Let the points come to me.”
What colleges have shown early interest?
“Western Illinois, University of San Francisco, IIT, and a couple of others. I am planning on getting more in the future!”
Smith is a high academic kid that plays with a great motor. Just scratching the surface of his potential.
