Continue ReadingMt. Vernon 6’8” center Roiyell Nesbitt is a big bodied post that has flashed ability throughout the season. When his game is rolling he is playing physical backing his man down in the post and getting deep position before the catch on a consistent basis. Nesbitt has a soft touch around the hoop and the lefty knows how to use the glass. Solid free throw stroke as well. Average rebounder for size. Could be intriguing upside post for JUCO programs.
Nesbitt discussed the progression throughout his senior campaign.
“I developed a lot throughout the season. At the beginning of the season I wasn’t good as far as finishing around the basket. Coach put me in some drills in practice to help me. Helping me get stronger in my legs. Braden (Fitzjerrells) has helped me after practice throwing lobs and going through things.”
How would he break down his strengths?
“A big bodied lefty that can finish around the rim. Sometimes can step out and hit a 15 footer.”
He updated us on his recruitment.
“A couple JUCO colleges are interested with Knox, Kaskaskia, and Rend Lake. Also D2 Arkansas Fort Smith.”
Nesbitt does not have any offers at this point.
