This year 2019 guard Reed Myers has had a unbelievable season, winning a state title, and getting a number of accolades. Coach Fredericks has gone on to say Reed might be the most talented freshman he has seen since Kevin Coble, who later went on to NorthWestern & a stint in the NBDL. Coble was one of the most decorated players to ever come out of Arizona. High praise for the young Myers but playing for Coach Fredericks will help guide Myers down the path these next couple of seasons.
Myers said the the season finished the “best way possible” with a state championship. Coming in as a freshman coach & the team was “very supportive” of me, and he “wouldn’t want to play for anyone other than Coach Fredericks, he always believed in me. The season was filled with up’s-and-downs but we pushed through adversity, and I can’t thank my teammates enough.
Myers plays club ball for Alvin Gentry Elite (formerly Arizona Eagles), coached by Kevin Coble, they will be playing a national schedule all around the country. Myers says, he is excited to play club ball with a very talented team.
Myers mentions there is a lot he needs to work on, including handling pressure, ball handling, his pull up game, and just all around working on his game daily.
He has big goals, would like to play at an Ivy League school, or Vanderbilt but this early in the game he is keeping all of his options open.
Congrats to Reed on a fantastic frosh campaign, keep tabs on him over the next few years at PrepHoops Arizona.
