Weaves in and out of defenders and is smooth with the ball juking defenders. Next step in his development will be becoming a true point guard and cutting down on turnovers.
Johnson discussed his junior season.
“I think I played decent. Not turning it over as much as I did last year. Assisting better. I am happy.”
What does he see his job as on the floor?
“A point guard leader that maintains the same mentality. Get the tempo.”
It is still early in the process, but a trio of colleges have shown initial interest.
“Nothing major. A couple schools showing interest. I have heard from Western Illinois, Boston University, and Bradley.”
Johnson ran with Team Illinois on the travel team circuit last summer.
