The area of his game that stands out the most is his ability to be mobile in the paint at his size. He does a great job of moving on the interior reposting and sealing his opponent off for scores. Davis shoots a high percentage from the field and has a soft touch around the basket. He is also a terrific passing big man that sees the floor both out of the high-post and on the block. Should find a home a JUCO program where he can be developed.
Davis talked about his senior season.
“The senior year is like a dream. I got my 1000 point. It was a big milestone and hasn’t happened that much at Dekalb High School. We have had a great season.”
Coach Al Biancalana does a great job of reposting him and getting him the ball in places to succeed.
“I am an inside out guy. I have been a big my whole life. With Coach B expanding my jump shot and my ball handling it has helped me a lot.”
Where do things stand with recruiting?
“Diablo Valley, Rock Valley, and Kish. A couple other JUCO’s around Illinois. I took an unofficial to Rock Valley and plan on taking an official to Diablo in the spring. I plan on making my decision in late April or early May.”
What stood out about the Rock Valley visit?
“I like the offense and atmosphere. Even though it is close to home I know I will get a good crowd there to see me play. I like the atmosphere there. They are a winning program that won nationals two years ago. Runners up last year.”
Definitely time for some D1 JUCO programs to get involved with one of the sleeper bigs in the state.
