The 6’3” shooting guard plays with as much intensity and motor as anyone in the state of Illinois. Burton is an elite athlete that flies around using his speed and hops to make plays all over. Nose for the basketball. He rebounds at a high rate on both ends of the floor with his second jump ability. Best getting out in transition where he can use his physical gifts. Flashes improvement on perimeter shot. Needs to be on the low-major/D2 radar!
Burton talked about the second half of the season and their motivation after a loss to Morgan Park’s rival.
“I think the second half of the season is going pretty well. We picked up after the loss to Simeon. We have a big statement to prove after that loss.”
He spoke to the development in his game.
“My game has evolved with my shooting getting better since last year. I am driving and attacking it more. Got in the weight lifting room with our trainer.”
What schools is he hearing from the most?
“St. Louis, Grand Canyon University, and Lewis.”
Division 2 Lewis is his lone offer at this point.
“The coach is talking to me pretty well. He is a great dude.”
Grand Canyon is a program that has shown significant interest as of late.
“They started shooting me texts recently.”
What is his timetable for a decision?
“I am going to wait until the end of the season.”
