These looks for the 6-foor-1 point guard aren’t surprising given the strong play he demonstrated throughout his junior year for Carroll.
“(Coaches like) my scoring ability and a lot of people just think I’m a shooter but I’m more than that,” Redding said. “I can handle the ball and beat people off the dribble and rebound and play good defense. Coaches like that I have more of an all around game.”
Redding certainly doesn’t lack in the aforementioned shooting department. He is one of the best junior shooters in the state and as he has rounded his game out his stock will continue to rise. He knows this is important, too, as he preps for the summer AAU season.
“Just getting stronger, getting quicker, handling the ball more and being more creative,” Redding said. “Then being able to make shots on a consistent basis, that’s what I need to work on so far.”
With this plan to continue improving Redding is holding off on making official timelines and when he will visit. He hasn’t visited any of the schools yet and said he would begin to think about that now that the high school season is over, but isn’t in a hurry.
