The 5-foot-10 guard told PHM that he has yet to see any recruitment come his way, no letters, nothing.
“I feel like I am under the radar because I haven’t really played a lot this year,” said Gardette, who transferred into Arbor Prep from Milan. “I’m just going to work harder and just show everybody what I can really do, and then hopefully I can start getting recruited pretty soon.”
Gardette explains his game as slahing, a combo-guard that can get to the hoop.
“I’m a really good attacker, I can get to the basket whenever. And I’m a pretty good shooter,” said the combo guard. “I play both point guard and shooting guard, but I play better at shooting guard right now. I’ll probably play point guard at the next level.”
“The only thing I really need to work on is dribbling. We do ball-handling drills every day in practice, and I dribble a tennis ball at home, and I’ve been working on it a lot lately.”
The talented junior sat out half of the season after the transfer, now he’s trying to become acclimated with his new teammates at Arbor Prep.
“I played a lot more and scored a lot more later in the season, and I feel like I made the team better,” said Gardette.
He played with The Program last offseason, but says he’s still undecided on what his 17U season holds.
“I have no idea what program I’m playing with this season,” said Gardette.”I’m still trying to figure that out.”
