the 6-foot-5 junior will play with West Michigan Flight once again this spring and summer, and is looking to add to his list of suitors.
“I’ve heard from about four of five schools. I’ve gotten a couple emails and few letters in the mail, that kind of thing. I’ve heard from; Concordia of Ann Arbor, Alma, Adrian, Hope, Olivet — and I’d say that’s it so far,” said Boothe.
“It is a big thing because it is my future, and I want to do what’s best and obviously I’d love to play college basketball — that’s been the goal since I was young. I just have to keep working and play the best I can night-in and night-out.”
Boothe says he’s not worried about which specific schools recruit him this summer, as long as he plays somewhere and it’s close to home, he’ll be happy.
“I wouldn’t say there’s any specific schools I hope recruit me. I know I’d like to stay close to home. Just any college basketball is the goal,” said Boothe, who went on to define his playing style.
“My first thing I would say is rebounding, that’s how I try and make an impact on the game — that’s probably the biggest strength that I have.”
“I need to become a better shooter, and lateral quickness, that can always improve.”
With his junior season finishing up, Booth reflected on his winter with the Eagles.
“At the beginning of the year I was a starter, and later on I sled into a sixth-man spot. And they just needed me to keep the ball-moving. We were big on team play,” said Boothe.
“They just needed me to always go strong to the hole, and to crash the boards, always being aggressive, and stay solid defensively. For the most part I’m happy with my play this season.”
