Oak Hill’s athleticism and length eventually wore Covington down as the game progressed. Covington was able to grab an early lead behind strong play from senior Ryan Fletcher inside. It then stayed close when Griffin Spring hit back-to-back 3-pointers to pull within 21-17, but after that Oak Hill was in complete control.
Oak Hill was able to dominate as it caused 17 turnovers in the second and third quarters and did so without its big man inside for the majority of the game. Caleb Middlesworth picked up two fouls in the first three minutes of the game and didn’t return until the third quarter where he finished with eight points and two rebounds. Instead the Eagles got strong play from its two guards in Chandler Julius and Christian Livingston. The duo was the point of the attack and defensive pressure and continually got into the lane offensively and the passing lanes defensively

Christian Livingston: 12 points (4/11 from field), 5 steals, 1 assist

Luke Cooper: 9 points (3/4 from 3), 3 rebounds
Griffin Spring: 7 points (2/9 from field), five rebounds
Player of the Game:
Christian Livingston – 5’11 G – Senior
This was a team effort defensively with the press, but Livingston’s five steals demonstrates exactly how effective it truly was in this game. He keyed the turnaround after Oak Hill fell behind early as he continually created fastbreak opportunities by getting into the passing lanes and either getting the steal or forcing a turnover.
