Isaac Gassman to Illinois St
Ottawa 2016 small forward Isaac Gassman was one of the best wings still on the board. He had his choice of D2 programs to attend. The senior opted to take a preferred walk on opportunity at Illinois State in the Missouri Valley Conference on Friday afternoon. He broke down why they were his choice.
“I chose ISU because I wanted to challenge myself at the highest level. I’m close with Coach Yaklich and really like him as a coach and person. I am excited to play in a great conference with a great school.”
Gassman is a rangy wing that was the glue that held Quad City Elite’s 17U team together last summer. He quietly goes about his business and does the little things to help his team win. Gassman has a thin and angular build with long arms. The lefty is a solid shooter from the perimeter being able to pull up from mid-range and hit a three in the catch and shoot. Sound passer and good defender.
The senior is the #41 overall prospect in the class of 2016 and #9 small forward.
