Reed Myers 6’0 2019 Scottsdale Christian – The SCA freshman had a dream season. In his first year as a high school basketball player he led his team to an undefeated record in Division-III, and number one ranking all season long, and a state championship. Myers played with poise beyond his years throughout his journey as the Eagles’ point guard. He averaged 12.6 points, 6.4 assists, and 3.2 rebounds with nearly a 3:1 assist/turnover ratio. In addition, he hit 75 threes at a 39% clip. Reed is a clear cut choice for Division-III Player of the Year, proving that age is nothing but a number.
-First Team-
Antaveus Brown 6’4 2016 Estrella Foothills – Brown was the second best player on a state runner up Wolves squad. The 6’4” senior was the team’s biggest perimeter threat, knocking down 79 threes on the season. He was a consistent threat that made teams play Estrella’s interior game straight up.
Caleb Cota 6’5 2016 North Canyon – Cota had an outstanding individual season for the Rattlers. His biggest moment came over the Christmas holiday break where he averaged 35 points in a three game span. Though his team had a rocky start (mainly to playing teams in higher divisions) they finished strong making it all the way to the quarterfinals.
Rex Greabell 6’7 2016 Estrella Foothills – The most dominant interior presence in the division. Greabell had a heckuva senior year for the Wolves. The senior forward averaged 18 points and 9 rebounds leading Estrella all the way to the championship game.
Kurt Wood 6’4 2016 Snowflake – Wood, again, had another tremendous season. The 6’4” guard proved himself as a senior leader, leading the Lobos back to the semifinals before falling to eventual state champion SCA. His ability to score, distribute, and defend multiple positions made him a jack of all trades.
