He scored the ball as well as any one in the state and also filled the stat sheet with rebounds and assists. While his team’s performance was inconsistent, he constantly performed in tough environments.
N’Keal Harry 6’4 2016 Chandler – This dual sport athlete had a great senior season on the court. The Arizona State football commit had some highlight plays including a fast break dunk where he shattered a backboard. He was the best player for a talented Wolves group that hung around the top ten all season.
Drew Hatch 6’3 2016 Mesa – Hatch was the best player on the state runner up Jackrabbits. The senior stepped up big time, leading Mesa past multiple top level teams after losing their other senior leader, classmate Darius Goudeau. Drew made shots offensively, got to the paint and drew defenders to create offense for others, and played sound on the defensive end.
Dane Maggi 6’3 2016 Sunnyslope – Maggi was the most productive player on a Sunnyslope team that surprised everybody, making it all the way to the title game before falling in the final quarter. Dane’s ability to shoot the ball was huge as he continuously scored when the Vikings needed it the most.
Antwan Ross 6’3 2016 Basha – Before the year we stated that Antwan Ross was poised to have a breakout year and he certainly did so. The 6’3″ wing was a highlight reel all season long for the Bears. His ability to score in transition and make tough shots in the half court helped Basha to a semifinal appearance.
