Team Breakdown
Lapel
Lapel has had a mixed bag of games to this point. They have played some of the harder teams in 2A but others they haven’t been tested. Canterbury gave them a run but eventually Lapel was able to breakthrough, like they have all year. Their biggest asset is their perimeter play on both sides of the ball. They are long and tall and it has caused problems for a lot of teams. They have a ton of depth as well and for a 2A team, that is not something you see everyday.
Indianapolis Howe
Howe had a very tough road to get to this point having to take down Shenadoah, Broad Ripple, Northeastern, and Providence. It tested their style and depth but they were able to overcome. Howe’s strength to this point has been their athleticism. They are quick and can get up and down the floor and score the ball really quickly which has been better than almost every other 2A team. Brian Warren has been the leader in that regard and provides them an offensive threat that averages more than 22 points per game.

Game Outlook
While Indianapolis Howe has been tested more in the postseason, Lapel has experience playing teams like Howe and I’m not sure Howe has seen a team like Lapel this season. Lapel’s length and defensive ability on the perimeter should cause issues and force Howe into some deeper looks rather than getting into the lane as often as they do. Howe is a good shooting team, though. If Brian Warren is making shots early, that could force Lapel out more and maybe open up some more driving lanes. Lapel has relied a ton of threes and transition buckets and if they don’t hit some of those shots early you could see them allowing teams to hang around like Canterbury and Monroe Central did. Also, watch for foul trouble. Lapel is maybe 7 guys deep that can help offensively. Howe is really only three or four so if fouls pop up early that could really hurt.
