Fort Wayne Canterbury (16-10) vs. Lapel (24-4) – 3:00 PM ET
Canterbury, at least up until this point, hasn’t had too many tough opponents so they have been able to sneak into Semistate a little under-the-radar. Lapel is a different team, though, and will be their toughest test all season. Lapel is stacked on the wings and has so much depth with guys like Jon Richardson, Kamron Herrington, and then Triston Carpenter in the post. Will be intersting to see how Tanner Camp matches up with Carpenter and if Jalen Paul can still produce against Lapel’s length on the perimeter.

Indianapolis Howe (22-7) vs. Providence (19-7) – 1:00 PM ET
The road has been difficult for Howe but they are within two games of a State Title but will have to maneuver a difficult Providence squad. Games against Shenandoah, Broad Ripple, and Northeastern have put them in prime position with a week to study up. Providence isn’t a team that is going to outscore opponents. They rely a ton of their defense. If Howe is able to get out and run, Providence might struggle to stay in this game early. Providence will have to make shots and rebound well if they want a chance in this one.
How Tough was the Road?
Indianapolis Howe – Opponents Record Combined: 63-35 – .649%
Howe easily had the toughest road to get here and I think it came at a perfect time for them. Sectionals weren’t too bad as Eastern Hancock and Knightstown went down fairly easily but Shenandoah was a test of styles and Broad Ripple was a little revenge for a loss earlier in the season. Northeastern was the biggest win to date for Howe and came away with a late steal and a layup to get it done.
Providence – Opponents Record Combined: 66-37 – .641%
Providence had an easier road than most because they only had to play four opponents so far but of those four, three had outstanding records and kept the games close. Linton-Stockton provided the biggest game to date as they had to make a ton of free throws down the stretch to pull it out.
Fort Wayne Canterbury – Opponents Record Combined: 63-38 – .624%
Canterbury also only had to get through just four games to reach Semistate and they didn’t face any easy games, none that were clearly an upset but solid games nonetheless. Hammond Noll was a tricky one to get through and it was within one possession at the end of the game. They won all three games by a combined 27 points which might be one of the tightest at any level this postseason.
Lapel – Opponents Record Combined: 77-49 – .611%
While Lapel is last on this list, they had to face two of the better teams in their class in Regionals in Eastern (Greentown) and Oak Hill. Sectionals were fairly easy and they probably had the best chance of any team in the state of winning their own Sectional but it also might have been flipped on Regionals. Oak Hill gave them everything they could handle and they made a late run but Lapel was victorious and heading into an intriguing matchup with Canterbury on Saturday.
