Xavier Bishop to UMKC
Springfield Lanphier 2016 point guard Xavier Bishop has had a spectacular senior season! Bishop was one of the top uncommitted guards in the state. Thursday afternoon Bishop committed to UMKC. He told us why.
“I chose UMKC because I fell in love with the city and the staff. I could really relate with the staff and they believe I can come in next year and be a big contributor. I wanted to go somewhere where I had the opportunity to play right away.”
Bishop is a small guard that is a dynamic playmaker with the rock in his hands. He is a volume scorer that has a knack for hitting contested jump shots. When he is in a zone he can carry a team. Has the ability to get in the lane with his quickness hitting tough shots. Solid distributor and an aggressive defender at the point of attack.
Bishop ran with Team Rose this past July and is the #10 point guard in the state’s senior class.
