Arizona College Prep at Baboquivari – College Prep is a team that started the season hovering around the top five teams in the state. A few bad losses and a lack of strength of schedule prevented them from returning to that tier but, make no mistake, they are still a solid team. However, they are stepping onto the court with a hot Warriors squad whose won three of their last four, losing in the section title game but just three points to Santa Cruz Valley. Baboquivari is hot but expect the Knights to hold on to the victory.
Ash Fork at NFL Yet – NFL Yet has been on quite the tear winning their last seven games including a huge win over Tonopah Valley. The Eagles head into tonight’s game with a ton of momentum and, while the Spartans have been solid this year, NFL Yet will continue their win streak. This is Division-V’s Game of the Night.
Bagdad at Tohono O’Odham – TO has silently put together a very solid year with some big wins. They take on a Bagdad team that has struggled some but won three of their last four. Regardless, expect the Eagles to come out on top.
Many Farms at St. Augustine – The Wolves are a superior favorite in this matchup against Many Farms. They’ve had more success against a tougher schedule. Expect a St. Augustine victory.
Williams at Fort Thomas – A pretty even matchup, both Williams and Fort Thomas are playing their best ball right now. While Fort Thomas is the higher seed, expect the Vikings’ size to overwhelm the Apaches for a Williams win.
Valley Union at El Capitan – Valley Union’s results have been up and down all year. They take on an Eagles squad that has won seven straight, and many in dramatic fashion. At the rate that El Capitan is playing, expecting them to arise victorious.
Rough Rock at Tonopah Valley – Tonopah Valley was upset in their section tournament by an improving NFL Yet team and, while Rough Rock has some quality wins, expect the Phoenix to have a great refocus heading into Friday which will lift them over the Sundevils.
Superior at Arizona Charter – Superior pulled off the biggest upset of the year in Division-V when they defeated (then #1 ranked) San Carlos in the section semifinal. Don’t expect them to be as lucky as they take on a Bulldogs team that overmatches them in size.
