Cibola vs Estrella Foothills – Estrella has been going strong all year. On Friday they beat a very good 17-seeded Cortez and are now taking on a Cibola team that snuck past Valley Christian. While the Raiders have had a solid year they haven’t played the schedule of the Wolves and haven’t faced off against a division opponent as tough. The experience of Estrella will lead them to victory.
Mingus Union vs Winslow – This will be a rematch from mid-December game in which Winslow defeated Mingus Union 77-66. The Marauders have only lost one division game since and will definitely be playing with a lot of firepower. The Bulldogs will come in confident as well, winners of eight of their last nine games. While Winslow won the first match, Mingus Union has been on a tear so expect them to upset the higher seed.
Window Rock vs Scottsdale Christian – Window Rock has had a solid, yet inconsistent season. They are 2-4 against teams that have been rated in our top five this season and have yet to play a team ranked in the top two. SCA will be the toughest team that the Fighting Scouts have had to faceoff against this year and the Eagles are just too deep for them the overcome.
North Canyon vs Snowflake – North Canyon is one of the best 10 seeds we’ve seen in the Division-III playoffs in a while. The Rattlers have come on strong as of late. They play a tough Snowflake team who’s calculated style has given them problems in the past. In their only matchup with year the Lobos defeated North Canyon (75-66). Expect a very close game but for Snowflake’s experience to be the determining factor as they’ve been in this position before.
