Division III: Scottsdale Christian vs Estrella Foothills – The dream matchup for Division III. All season long it’s been debated who’s the number one team: Scottsdale Christian or Estrella Foothills? Tonight we will find out. SCA is the only team to go undefeated in Division play this season. After blowing by Tuba City and Window Rock they convincingly beat an experienced Snowflake squad to get to the title game. Estrella lost only two games in the division, one being to SCA to open up the season. The Wolves had compelling wins over Cortez, Cibola, and Winslow and are looking for the ultimate revenge. The Eagles are one of few teams on Estrella’s schedule they have depth to throw at the Wolves interior presence of Rex Greabell. However, Antaveon Brown’s size and athleticism should cause issues for SCA defenders. A win could make this a dream season for freshman Reed Myers and he definitely has the ability to lead his group to the title but it will be no tough task. All in all, the depth of the Eagles should help them to victory.
Division IV: Phoenix Country Day vs Yuma Catholic – Both Yuma Catholic and Phoenix Country Day ranked among the top three Division-IV teams all season. On Thursday the Eagles had a six point win over ALA ahead of pulling away from American Leadership pretty good last night. The Shamrocks, on the other hand, had a very tough game last night with Pima that could show in tonight’s game. Regardless, Yuma Catholic has been dominant all year and will prove to be the better team.
Division V: Bisbee vs San Carlos – San Carlos spent the majority of the season ranked as the number one team in the division and, while they had a pair of mishaps towards the end of the season, they finished strong and are in a position to win the title with one game left in the season. Bisbee has won two close contests in the past two days which will play a part in tonight’s game as fatigue my set in. Expect the Braves to finish a successful run with a state title.
