Treyton Smith
5’9 – PG – 2018
Smith continues to impress me as a point guard. He makes the right passes and does not really force the ball much on the drive. When he does get into the lane he has a really nice spin move that he uses which creates space pretty effectively. Defensively he does a good job in staying in front of his man on defense and does not use his hands on the body, he should get better with experience and hopefully the height will come as well. – 6 points, 3 assists
Kyler Jeter
6’2 – PF – 2016
Jeter was a nice little surprise, after seeing him once before I did not think that he would be the guy he was in this game. He usually posts up and takes his man 1-on-1 since he is stronger than most but this game he popped out and hit a few 3-pointers. He did not crash the boards that much but that was because he played a little farther out than he normally plays, still a good game from Jeter and he had an impact on the outcome. – 12 points, 3 rebounds
South Putnam:
Allen Plunkett
6’4 – SF – 2019
First time seeing Plunkett this year and I came away impressed. He did not make many mistakes but when he did he recovered and made the play to stop the basket. Plunkett had a couple thunderous blocks and was in good position every time someone came near. He also showed some good touch from long distance and showed a nice pull-up jumper. Only thing at this point I would like to see is much more aggressiveness, he could have driven so much more and really could have took over the game but did hit a fadeaway to win it. Loads of potential. – 17 points, 7 rebounds, 3 blocks, 1 assist
Thomas Fanning
5’6 – PG – 2019
Fanning did a good job of running the point and just keeping the ball secure, he only turned the ball over twice. Fanning also showed a willingness to step back and let the offense work. Fanning also did a good job of keeping Smith in front of him which is no easy task. Fanning is pretty decent freshman point guard who will get better in time with a better team around him as he will be able to shoot it more. – 5 points, 1 assist
