David Hanyard
5’10 – SG – 2017
Hanyard was really good in this game. He has a really nice jumper and he got to the rim extremely well. The shots weren’t falling the whole game but he hit some really tough fadeaways with a guy in his face. He is really quick and has a great burst of speed allowing him to close on defenders. Hanyard has got all the skills you need in a guard and despite being the main scorer on the team he is not that guy who tries to score every time down the floor. – 23 points, 4 assists
Cortiz Buckner
5’8 – PG – 2017
Buckner was really surprising to me in this one. He has a very fast first step which gets the defender off of him. He sees the floor well and distribute the ball. He can hit from deep but it is not really that repeatable. He gets into the lane very well and that is where he scored most of his points. He is a very good defender and did not allow his guy to score at all. He got a ton of steals which led to super easy layups for himself. – 17 points, 3 assists
Kokomo:
Jordan Matthews
6’1 – PG – 2016
Matthews was very aggressive but he could not get anything to fall. I can see why he is the leading scorer on the team. He really struggled in this one but he got a few steals and was a force on the defensive end. Matthews got hurt in the third quarter and came back late in the fourth but I liked what I saw from him and he could be someone who plays at the next level. – 8 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists
Anthony Barnard
6’4 – SG – 2018
Barnard caught my eye as a young wig who likes to run around and get a shot on the perimeter. He is a good shooter from deep who does not really go inside much despite being the second tallest kid on his team. He looks really young which could be a good sign and he may add another inch or so within the next year. He’s a sophomore shooter to watch. – 12 points (3/5 3-pointers), 4 rebounds
Keenan Wheeler
6’0 – SG – 2017
Wheeler was easily getting into the paint in this game, more so than I have ever seen and I really liked that aggressiveness. He was all over the court and shot the ball really well going 6/7 from the floor. He has nice touch on his floater that he really like to use and is better suited to shoot the ball from 15′ and in at this point. – 14 points, 7 rebounds
