Monrovia:
Luke Smith
6′ – PG – 2017
Luke was shut down in the first half and I liked how he did not force anything. In the second half he was 5/9 from the field for 14 points. He hit some long threes and fought to get his team back in the game. He was active and showed a good IQ. He likes to pull-up and did that tonight and he has a nice lefty shot and could grow a little more – 14 points, 3 steals
Max Newman
6’4 – PF – 2019
Newman is a kid to watch. Tall and lanky and it seems he is not done growing. Awkward at times and does not seem comfortable in his body. That said, he really impressed me tonight as the first guy off the bench, did a good job rebounding inside and was excellent on trapping Coble forcing him to give the ball up. Not really an offensive guy yet but that will come. – 2 points, 6 rebounds
Greencastle:
Ryan Coble
6’2 – SG – 2016
Coble was really good in this one but he did not even shoot the ball well. Did not hit a three and went 1/4 at the line. He really got into the paint well when he was doubled teamed by driving and really was never stopped once he got momentum. He showed me he can hit floaters, running banks, layups with tons of contact and finish on all of them. He was doubled all night long the length of the floor and still found multiple ways to contribute. – 23 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 blocks
Nick Costin
6′2 – SF – 2017
Costin was on fire tonight. He hit four straight threes in the first half and scored 17 total in the game. He was the guy tasked with guarding Smith in the first half and did great only letting him shoot twice while not scoring anything. Costin is a guy that could be intriguing if he puts it together, a football guy so he is tough as they come. – 17 points, 6 rebounds
