By the end of the 1st quarter, Shadow Mountain led Flagstaff 32 to 8 in large part to the play of 6’3″ Senior PG Michael Bibby, Jr. Bibby had a hand in seemingly every play in the opening period as he knocked down shots and was able to get into the lane and kick to the open man. In addition to his strong play, the overall pressure of Shadow Mountain caused a lot of turnovers and negated the presence of the talent 6’9″ Senior big man Brett Morrow. Shadow continued their dominance throughout this one as they finished it with 73 to 45 final.
Flagstaff
Brett Morrow 6’8″ PF/C 2016 – Morrow played solid in the opportunities that were presented to him. Unfortunately, Flagstaff had a lot of trouble getting the ball up the court due to the relentless pressure. Morrow has great touch from 15 feet. In addition, he has a good motor for a high school prospect. He will have some opportunities to play this game at the next level.
Brandon Tiffany 5’11” PG 2017 – Tiffany is a very talented prospect; however, the Flagstaff team had a difficult time generating production due to the solid guard play of Shadow Mountain. Tiffany is a solid guard with a good handle and ability to attack the rim.
Kaleb Sandoval 5’11” PG/SG 2016 – Sandoval’s biggest strength is his shooting ability. Like Tiffany and Morrow, he was unable to do the things he is typically able to do in this one. Sandoval could be a good fit at a smaller school in light of his motor and high level shooting ability.
George Faul 6’6″ F 2017 – Faul was a bright spot in a otherwise dark game for Flagstaff. He is an above average shooter who does a nice job of using his athleticism to attack the rim. It will be interesting to see how his stock is impacted with an increased role for Flagstaff next season.
Shadow Mountain
Michael Bibby, Jr. 6’3″ PG 2016 – The more and more I watch Bibby, the more impressed I am. He is a knock down shooter who has great vision with the basketball. He does a great job of being quick but not being in a hurry. He is able to get passed the first defender and feel where the help side is coming from. He is a high level player at the next level.
JJ Rhymes 6’5″ G/F 2016 – Rhymes has a great nose for the ball and ability to make plays. He will definitely have an opportunity to play this game at the next level due to his toughness, athleticism, and high basketball IQ. He has a knack for being able to get to wherever he wants to on the court.
Jovan Blackshear 6’1″ PG/SG 2019 – Blackshear comes in off the bench and provides a lot of toughness on the defensive end. Blackshear has a really solid handle and a good feel for the game. He has a physical style of play and is capable of getting to the rim at will.
Jaelen House 6’1″ PG/SG 2019 – House is a top tier prospect. He seems to be getting more and more comfortable each game. He did a good job of controlling tempo, pressuring the basketball, and making plays in this one. His shooting percentage on the season does not reflect what he is capable of. He should be primed for a breakout Sophomore season.
Harrison Hillard 6’7″ C 2016 – Hillard seems to be improving game after game. He has a good motor and a soft touch around the rim. He does a good job protecting the painted area for this very talented group. His role was of great importance last night as Flagstaff possesses some talented bigs.
Darion Spottsville 6’3″ G/F 2017 – Very similar to Pace, Spottsville comes in and gets after it on the glass and plays his role for this team. He has shot the ball at an extremely high percentage from inside and outside the three. He has a lot of talent and will be expected to play a huge role for this team next year.
Jordan Pace 6’3″ G/F 2017 – Pace is relentless on the glass. He comes in and plays his role. It will be interesting to see how his role expands with the departure of many talented prospects. Throughout this season, Pace has shown a decent ability to shoot it from deep, and has shot it well inside the line.
Isaiah Jones 6’8″ C 2016 – Jones came off the bench and played primarily with the second unit. He is a big body with an above average motor. He also possesses a decent mid-range jumper to go along with soft hands and solid footwork.
Bryce Fisher 6’2″ PG 2016 – Fisher is a quick guard with an above average ability to shoot it from deep. Fisher should find a landing spot at the end of this season.
Tyler Jafary 6’5″ C 2017 – Jafary has improved his game considerably since this time last season. He gives tremendous effort on the glass and has a good motor.
