PG Tabari Dunlap (O’Fallon – 2018)
Dunlap stands at 5’9” with great quickness and change of direction ability. Got in the lane on a pretty consistent basis and showed excellent speed with the ball in the open floor. Liked to get in the paint where he would hit pull up jumpers and floaters. He had 8 points.
PG Jalen Hodge (O’Fallon – 2018)
Hodge is an intriguing prospect at 6’0”. The left handed point guard is strong with the ball and plays with confidence. He handles it well against pressure and is a solid athlete. Quick release on jump shot and had a sweet wrap around pass for an assist. Hodge went for 5 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 block.
PG Ahmad Muhammad (St. Joseph’s – 2018)
The 5’11” Muhammad proved he could knock down shots with consistency in the pull up. Hit three of them from mid-range with balance and elevation. Played with confidence and moved the basketball. He had 6 points and 2 assists.
PG Ayo Dosunmu (Morgan Park – 2018)
The state’s top sophomore point guard got off to a fast start pushing the tempo and getting others involved. He had a slippery drive in the lane for two and also passed it well. Only took a handful of shots on the night, but was still effective with his on ball pressure and hit the glass well for a lead guard. Dosunmu had 5 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 dimes.
PG Josh McElrath (Peoria Richwoods – 2019)
McElrath is proof that you don’t necessarily have to score to jump out at a young age. The 6’1” point guard has a projectable frame where he should continue to grow. He displayed explosiveness handling the ball particularly using a cross over and overall is very slick with the rock in his hands. Vision in the half court was evident. Pushes the ball on his shot a little too much, but has plenty of time to clean that up. Defensively moves well laterally. One to watch going forward.
PG Marquise Walker (St. Joseph’s – 2019)
Solid game out of the 5’10” starting point guard for St. Joe’s. Walker is quick in tight spaces and excels at scoring from 10 feet and in where he uses his quickness and change of direction to get buckets. Did a better job in this game of limiting the turnovers as he only had one. Pushes the tempo and more than held his own against a D1 senior on the other side. Walker had 12 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists.
SF Josh Wallace (CBC, MO – 2019)
Big fan of the upside with this 6’4” small forward. He is oozing with potential as he is super bouncy and plays to his athleticism. Wallace had 4 points (2-2 FG) and 4 rebounds. One to track down the line.
