Continue ReadingIn the 2016 class John Okwoli is a guard that could play at the NAIA/D3 level if he so chose to in basketball. However, John has been a special player in the state of Arizona on the gridiron for the Rattlers of North Canyon high school. So much, that Okwoli was hearing from PAC-12 schools and a wide variety of division 1 football opportunities.
Okwoli was ready to pull the trigger & commit to Boise State or Utah State when he experienced the business that is college football, the scholarships had been filled. Quickly, Okwoli was weary of the remainder of the process however he took a visit to Wyoming and immediately felt comfortable with the coaching staff, the university, the players & everything. Since then, Okwoli has committed & signed with Wyoming and will be playing football there.
Okwoli says he will miss basketball but his focus is leading North Canyon to a division 3 state championship. Keep tabs on Okwoli here at PrepHoops Arizona.
