Trevor is averaging over 20.7 points and 7.4 rebounds per game and has helped to get Lebanon to 12-6 on the season and a 6-game winning streak. They are also looking at winning the Sagamore Conference Championship.
“I’ve played alright,” Lakes said of his season so far. “It’s been a good season for me overall. I think my shooting off the dribble and finishing inside are the things that have improved the most.”
And it has. Trevor had shown improvement this summer with his ability to score off the bounce and now he’s taken it a step further in the high school season. Known mostly as a perimeter shooter early on, Lakes can get into the mid-range and pull-up or floater. At 6’7, that makes him very difficult to defend. He’s had some big games this season going for 30 points against Southmont and 28 points against Western Boone.
Recruiting has picked up since this winter for Lakes. He now has quite a few schools showing interest including Maryville, Southeast Missouri, Valparaiso, Air Force, Indiana State, Cedarville, and Northwood. Recently, he went on a pair of visits to Missouri to visit SEMO and Maryville.
“They went really well. I enjoyed both of them. I really liked the campus and the coaches. Being around the team was a lot of fun,” Lakes said of his visit to Maryville.
“I really enjoyed my there too,” Lakes said of Southeast Missouri. “I got to play with the team there and I had a lot of fun with that. The Show Me Center is an awesome place.”
Lakes is still looking to pull in his first offer but he should have more than a few options here sooner rather than later as he continues to grow. This high school season has given him confidence and could lead to an even bigger spring and summer.
