Continue ReadingDieterich 6’5” power forward Travis Niemberg has nice length and solid strength. He does a lot of his damage on the offensive glass with quick put backs on rebounds. Niemberg can also step out to hit the 12-15 foot baseline jump shot. The 2016 prospect is a solid athlete that can use it to finish around the hoop including a nice up and under. Could be a little more aggressive overall. Solid rebounder and can block a shot every now and then. Solid D3/NAIA candidate.
He broke down his game.
“I think personally I am versatile. I can take the ball off the dribble and play good defense. I can slide with most people.”
What does he see as his role on the team as a senior?
“Usually we are going to have teams that play zones against us because we have a height advantage. Me and the other big guy we are going to be going in and out of the post. We are going get it kicked in and let the guards relocate. If we have our move we will take it. If we get points in the paint good. If the guards relocate and score that is good too.”
Niemberg updated us on his recruitment.
“I haven’t heard much. I am focusing on my school work. I have been contacted by Illinois College and over the summer I heard from McMurray College.”
