Continue ReadingJohn A Logan sophomore 6’7” power forward Tamas Bruce might be my favorite JUCO player the past two seasons. He is the Tristan Thompson of Logan. Bruce plays with a ton of energy. The four man is quick to the offensive glass with a crazy explosive second jump. He is extremely active on the interior hitting the glass. As an offensive threat he is a bit raw still, but shows flashes of improving footwork and skill. Needs to continue to improve his hands in tight spaces and finishing with more consistency. Flashes handles where he takes his man baseline from 15 feet out. Defensively he is quick to the weakside blocking shots. Great low-major post prospect!
Bruce talked about how he is playing as a sophomore.
“I am playing great. Rebounding better than last year and scoring more. I have come a long way.”
After the graduation of several stud posts that led them to a Region championship Bruce knew he would have to grow in his game.
“I have improved on ball handling and more vision on the court. Last year I wasn’t a great post up player, but I worked on that this summer.”
What schools are actively showing interest?
“Troy, Austin Peay, Eastern Illinois, SIU-Carbondale, and SIU-Edwardsville.”
