Continue ReadingA senior prospect that has had a monster second half of the high school season is Westinghouse 2016 shooting guard Joshua Roberts. The two guard is smooth with the basketball and has always had upside as a scorer. He is realizing that potential closing out his high school career. He has been putting up 20+ points on a regular basis. We caught up with Roberts to discuss his surge late in the season.
“This season I’ve decided to just play for the love of the game and leave a positive legacy at Westinghouse before I graduate. I had a couple big games earlier this season like a the TOC Classic and King High School, but everything seemed to click after I realized my high school career was coming to an end. So I just started playing freely and it paid off.”
Where has he seen the biggest areas of growth in his game?
“Most of the areas that seemed to be on point is my off ball movement and my teammates learning how to find me in tough situations. By opening up that part of my game it’s been easier to activate my mid-range skill set which is literally the strongest part of my game.”
Roberts updated us with his recruitment.
“Recruiting is a very low for me right now. Albion College is still going hard for me and my coach has been talking to a couple schools to see if I can walk on, but as of right now it’s very low.”
D3/NAIA/JUCO programs need to take a serious look at Roberts as he is a prospect that is peaking at the right time heading into his college career.
