The power guard isn’t overly bouncy, but maneuvers his way in the lane to score inside through contact. Streaky shooter, but we saw him catch fire in one game. Probably a high level D2 kid that in the right system could be a low-major guy.
Watson broke down his game.
“Aggressive tenacious player on both the offensive and defensive end. Smart and makes the right decisions. I am working on being a superior threat on the perimeter. I think my strength is being able to make decisions and drive to the rim.”
How has he been playing as a sophomore?
“It has been going good. I have been shooting the ball mediocre. I have been focusing on taking good shots instead of shots I am not above percentage of making. That is one thing I have been focusing on.”
The JUCO guard updated us on his recruitment.
“I have heard from Cal State Northridge, Mercer, and SIU-Edwardsville.”
What will be important in a school for him?
“A group of guys that want to win. That is a big thing with me. I love to compete. I love to go at it. I love to have someone driving you every day. I think the more guys you have like that on a team the better you will be.”
