He has an angular body with good strength and a frame to continue to add more muscle. The sophomore is a mismatch that can play both on the inside and face up. He is probably most comfortable right now facing up where he can use his size and shooting ability to stroke jumpers over perimeter defenders to out beyond the arc. Flashes footwork in the post. Runs the floor great and is a quality athlete. A lot of upside and potential with his versatile forward.
How has his sophomore season went for his team?
“It is going good. I love playing with these guys. They are my brothers. We are doing well working together.”
The forward spoke about the year from an individual standpoint.
“It is going alright. I am playing my role. We have the big three with Mark Smith, Oliver Stephen, and AJ Epenesa. It is not so much scoring, but playing defense and rebounding. I try to chip in when I can. Play my role.”
Where does he see that his game is improving the most?
“Definitely shooting. I have been working on that a lot. Playing at Edwardsville with the big guy down low. So shooting and handling the ball a little bit.”
Strohmeier updated us on his recruitment.
“Me and a couple guys visited Western Illinois on an unofficial visit. Missouri State I have talked to their coach a little bit.”
Western Illinois is a program that has made him a priority early getting him on campus.
“It was fun. I really like their coaching staff and fast paced style. It was nice seeing the facilities. We didn’t get to see it all because it was snowing, but I definitely liked it a lot.”
