The 6’2” shooting guard has good strength in his upper body and is best attacking the hoop with straight line drives from the wing or going baseline. He attacks the rim with a lot of authority and isn’t afraid going through whoever is in his way to get a bucket. Can hit an occasional jump shot. Mechanics at the top of the release point need a little work, but he does get lift on the shot. As a passer shows some flare on the interior for making quality decisions when there is an open teammate for layup. Plus plus rebounder for his size as he competes incredibly hard on the boards on both ends of the floor. Defensively he will need to make improvements with his lateral foot speed to defend at the next level. Worth consideration at the D3/NAIA level.
Williams talked about his game.
“I like to make my team better. Depends on how we are going. If we are in a fast paced game I like to push the ball up the court. I attack the basket and can spot up shoot. I have to make the all-around plays and rebound. You have to get boards to win games and that is one of my main things.”
Where does his recruitment stand?
“Greenville has been really interested in me. I heard from Lincoln Christian up in Normal, Illinois. Millikin has been talking to me. My coaches have been getting emails about coaches coming to watch me.”
