Rosholt is 8-7 on the season with five games remaining. They have a chance to make a run to get ready for section play but the schedule is tough.
“The season has been going pretty well,” Alex told PHD. “We have a big group of seniors which makes it very enjoyable. We have faced some competition and have been finding our weaknesses and sorting them out lately to get ready for tournament time.
“We have to work on our physicality as we don’t have much post presence down low. Rebounds are something we need to keep improving on and not to allow so many second chance points. Our shots are starting to fall more now which changes the whole game. We are looking forward to make our push as regular season comes to an end.”
The 6-foot-5 Krueger has been a fixture in the Rosholt line-up for several years but he continues to improve regardless of the challenges he faces.
“I actually missed a few games right at the beginning due to an ankle injury but have been progressing back to normal through the rest of the season,” Krueger said.
“I have taken a lot of what I learned this summer playing for the Dakota Niners and I am definitely seeing the experience from that show. I feel my leadership has improved being the only returning starter from last year. I’m really looking forward to getting back to being as aggressive and physical as I was before my injury.”
Alex will play college basketball. He was offered by Dakota Wesleyan and Valley City State last fall.
“I’m still in the thinking process of that,” said Alex about what he wants to do for college. “Right now, interested in me is DWU, Mt. Marty, and Valley City.”
