Jon Arenas to Washington University
Maine South senior Jon Arenas made his college commitment on Thursday night as the guard tells us he is headed to Washington University in St. Louis. He told us why they were his choice.
“When I went for my visit I felt a great connection with the coaches, players, and community. The combination of top academics and being able to compete at a high level division 3 basketball program was perfect. My family and I felt it was the perfect fit for me.”
Arenas is a 6’3” senior shooting guard that likes to get in the lane. He is thin, but not afraid to get in the paint where he finishes with runners and athleticism at the hoop. Solid quickness off the dribble and slippery through traffic. Pure scorer that excels at attacking off the bounce and has potential on his jump shot.
He should be a productive player for Wash U throughout his entire career. During his prep years Arenas ran with Team NLP on the travel team circuit.
