-Division I-
St. Mary’s at #8 Desert Mountain (Monday)
St. Mary’s has been on a role as of recently. They take on a Wolves team that is 1-2 in their past three contests losing to both #9 Dobson and #10 Mountain View. The Knights will look to continue their streak as Desert Mountain has no matchup for super sophomore KJ Hymes. This is Monday’s Game of the Night.
#6 Highland at #3 Basha
The Bears had a big win in an exciting game over Desert Vista last week. They take on a struggling Highland team that has lost three in a row. There are only two home games left for Basha so expect them to go out fighting and victorious in the battle.
Mountain Pointe at #1 Corona del Sol
Mountain Pointe went 1-2 over the weekend falling to a hot Dobson squad and Gilbert while CDS move into #1 though they didn’t play (others above them fell). The Aztecs are well rested and have had time to prepare for the Pride which, combined with home court advantage, give them the best chance of winning.
#5 Gilbert at Desert Vista
Gilbert pulled off two big wins over Highland and Mountain View last week. They enter tonight’s game at Desert Vista with confidence but it’s senior night for the Thunder so expect the emotion to carry them to victory.
#2 Mesa at #9 Dobson
Dobson is one of the hottest trending teams this week after defeating, both, Mountain Pointe and Desert Mountain. They take on a Mesa team that fell to Mountain View last week. Mesa’s versatility, ability to rebound, and style of play will likely lead to Jackrabbits to victory.
#4 Mountain Ridge at #7 Sunnyslope
The Mountain Lions are coming off a loss to St. Mary’s so will look to enter Tuesday’s game with something to prove. They are the toughest team that Sunnyslope has played in the calendar year and it is unlikely that the Vikings will be able to keep up with their athleticism.
-Division II-
#5 Paradise Valley at #6 Saguaro
Paradise Valley is coming off a win against Ironwood after falling their worse loss of the season to Shadow Mountain. They have realized their deficiencies and have had a lot of practice time to improve them. They take on a Saguaro team that got two wins last season. While Saguaro has won their last four, they haven’t played a defense as stellar as the Trojans so expect PV to leave with a W. This is Tuesday’s Game of the Night.
-Division III-
#6 (D2) Saguaro at #1 Scottsdale Christian (Monday)
SCA faces one of their stiffest challenges of the season taking on #6 ranked Division-II Saguaro. Earlier this season the Eagles defeated a hot Higley squad. While, on paper, they may seem to be overmatched, expect the freshman led team to come out with the victory.
Window Rock at #4 Snowflake
The Lobos have been red hot, winners of their last 12! They are going head to head with a Window Rock squad that fell to Winslow before defeating Division IV Alchesay. Few teams have gone to Snowflake and got a win this season so expect them to come out on top.
