Preston Arity (St Thomas More). Pretson continues his improved play as of late with 15 points to lead St. Thomas who did drop the game to SF Christian by ten. Arity has had a great month of February.
Devin Eppard (Chester Area). The Flyers earned a win in the fourth quarter and the versatile talent of Eppard was maybe the biggest factor in the victory. Devin, a sophomore, scored 13 points, grabbed six boards, had five assists, and recorded four steals.
Ty Hoglund (Dell Rapids). Hoglund, one of the leaders for all the player of the year awards, scored 33 points helping his team maintain their number one ranking with a win over Roncalli. Hoglund also created countless shots for teammates and recorded six assists.
Gabe King (Irene-Wakonda). Despite being face-guarded by Canistota in a diamond and one defensive set, the NSU signed talented scored 23 points breaking free to make plays in the second half.
Mason Larson (Langford): Sophomore Mason Larson gave his team energy with an early alley-oop finish and later hit an important top of the key three. Langford Area beat Irene-Wakonda by eight and Larson led with his momentum building plays.
Clayton Menning (Corsica-Stickney): Led the Jags to 13-3 on the year with 26 points stepping up in the absence of a couple starters. Clayton made a big jumper with around 90 seconds to go that was the biggest shot in a two point victory.
Dillon Moore (Sanborn Central/Woonsocket). Moore scored a team high 21 for his team and was one of several SCW players that worked extremely hard for a big defensive effort towards the 73-55 win over Parkston.
Jerard Nielsen (Canistota). Canistota beat White River and Nielsen had one of the biggest games of his season actively scoring off the ball for a game high 15 points. Nielsen’s effort pushed Canistota to a very important win heading into the playoffs.
Brady Tiede (Sanborn Central/Woonsocket). Tiede controlled the back end of the defense grabbing nine rebounds and helped control the paint offensively with 17 points in an 18 point win.
Keegan Van Egdom (SF Christian). In our preview for the event we talked about all the big match-ups spot by spot and Van Egdom matched with Arity did with a game high 16 points and considering his teammates had more balance they won. Van Egdom’s shooting was a big piece.
