Continue ReadingThe class of 2018 is developing rapidly with more prospects emerging on a daily basis. After viewing them in the first half of their sophomore season we breakdown the strengths and weaknesses of the class as a whole.
Strengths:
Point Guard Depth. Like in many young classes the point guards are the first position to develop. There is a group of 9-10 potential D1 prospects at the point guard position that have established themselves.
Projectablity with Wings. A lot of wings that might not be quite there yet, but they project well with their size, length, athleticism, and upside. This is the area of the class that could make the biggest jump this summer.
Weaknesses:
Height in Post. There are several very intriguing post prospects in the class of 2018, but the problem is they are all about 6’5”. Their long term projectablity will depend on how much they grow to whether they can stay in the post or can they develop wing skills to max out their value.
High Major Locks. It is still very early in the process, but as of right now there are only two high major locks in our opinion in the class of 2018. There is potential with a lot of guys, but only a pair right now that we feel comfortable saying they are high major players in Tim Finke and Ayo Dosunmu.
