At the four spot a Chicago trio that run with Meanstreets on the grassroots circuit still stand above the rest. Messiah Jones (Simeon), Jordan Boyd (St. Joseph’s), and Raekwon Drake (Orr) are intriguing posts and all for different reasons. Jones is an athletic lefty that runs the floor, rebounds, and blocks shots. Boyd is a crafty low post scorer that has length and can hit a mid-range jumper. Drake is a physical freak that is a monster on the glass and brings thunderous slams. They all have something in common right now being slightly undersized at about 6’5”. Who grows and who doesn’t might determine where this trio ends up.
A Curie brother duo follows them up with Treavon Martin and Tyree Martin. The 6’6” brothers bring an interior presence rebounding and blocking shots with their tremendous length to Curie. Jordan Morris (Proviso East), Jalen Shaw (Larkin), and Chris Johnson (Naperville North) have each shown flashes of ability early in their careers.
The center position isn’t a deep one or with any star power at this point. There are some potential upside guys with good frames however in Edu Okanu (TF South), Mick Sullivan (Marimon Academy), and Ryan Davis (Conant).
