Linton-Stockton (8-3) vs. Eastern Greene (7-2)
(Greene County Invitational) The battle between Linton and Eastern Greene is to get to the Championship game of the Greene County Invitational to face the winner of the Bloomfield and Vincennes Rivet game. Linton proved they have the talent to make some waves in the postseason. With their only losses against Barr-Reeve, Terre Haute South, and West Vigo, they don’t have a bad loss. But, neither does EG. The difference at this point is LS better wins. – PREDICTION: Linton-Stockton
Liberty Christian (10-1) vs. Lapel (10-1)
(Madison County Tournament) This might be one of the best matchups this week. Liberty Christian has been good all season with their only loss coming to Warren Central. WC was only game on schedule they should have lost. Lapel might be the second. Their size and length is going to cause problems for them. Lapel has never lost to Liberty Christian (6-0). This would be a marquee win for them this year. – PREDICTION: Lapel
Indianapolis Pike (8-2) vs. Fishers (4-6)
Pike is doing what Pike does. They have a great record and set themselves up for a nice postseason run. Fishers finally broke a long 6-game losing streak with a big win over Ben Davis. They are plenty capable of winning games but Pike is a bad matchup for a ton of teams, Fishers included. – PREDICTION: Indianapolis Pike
North Central (9-0) vs. Ben Davis (7-4)
North Central is the best team in the state this year, at least to this point and their 9-0 record is nice but they have hardly played Murderer’s Row. Ben Davis has been so up and down this year, winning some great games and losing others they shouldn’t have. If the good BD plays tonight, North Central could get a real test. If not, it could get ugly. – PREDICTION: North Central
Muncie Central (7-2) vs. Lafayette Jeff (7-2)
Lafayette Jeff has been a crazy surprise this season. If they would have won 7 games all season I would have not blinked an eye. Their depth of guards who can make shots keep them in every game. Muncie Central has a couple nice players but not a ton of depth. If Jeff can neutralize Andre Jones with their bigs and let their guards focus on offense, Jeff can win this game easily. – PREDICTION: Lafayette Jeff
Mt. Vernon (Fortville) (8-2) vs. Greenfield-Central (8-2)
Greenfield has gotten off to a great start and a great record but Mt. Vernon isn’t messing around this year. Made up of all upperclassmen, Mt. Vernon is poised to do well down the stretch and coming off a lost to New Castle, I’m not sure Coach Daugherty is going to let them forget about that. Could be close but edge goes to the road team. – PREDICTION: Mt. Vernon (Fortville)
Lawrence North (7-2) vs. Warren Central (7-5)
Warren Central has pretty good this year under new head coach Criss Beyers. They have some good wins under their belt but another challenge awaits with LN. Lawrence North is on a 7-game winning streak after struggling the first couple of games trying to put this team together. The one area WC can hurt teams is with their guards but LN has some good ones. Expect a fast paced matched and a fun game. – PREDICTION: Lawrence North
Indianapolis Tindley (8-3) vs. University (10-3)
Don’t be shocked if this is a preview of the Sectional Championship later this year. Tindley got tested in the Bob Wettig Tournament and that could pay dividends here in the coming weeks. University has been nearly perfect this season. They have won every game they should have and of the three losses, non of them are bad. Expect a battle at the 1A level tonight. – PREDICTION: Indianapolis Tindley
Hamilton Southeastern (7-4) vs. Lawrence Central (11-2)
HSE has been about what you expected to this point but they have yet to get a marquee win. Lawrence Central presents their next opportunity but LC might also be the most battle tested team in the state and it won’t be easy, especially on the road. Might get to see a couple 30-point performances in this one between Kyle Guy and Zach Gunn. – PREDICTION: Lawrence Central
Elkhart Central (7-1) vs. South Bend Riley (11-3)
Elkhart Central is off to a good start but hasn’t left the area or played too many top end teams. Riley has gotten that opportunity and done well with it. Riley has to learn to play together still but raw talent is wildly apparent. If Elkhart Central can play sound and fundamental for an entire game, it can beat Riley but not many teams can do that for 32 minutes. – PREDICTION: South Bend Riley
