Mark Albers
6’4 – SF – 2017
This was a game where Albers had to keep his team in it. Anderson threatened in the second half and although Mark had missed quite a bit early on, he was able to shoot through it at the end of the game hitting three straight threes to get PH a lead that they could finish. Mark is a solid build, 6’4 shooter. He’s not got the body right now to allow him to do as much as he wants to. He likes to slash to the rim to get points and against Anderson he was decently effective but agility will have to be upgraded for the next level. He has the green light to shoot and he started off 1/6 but ended 4/11 from deep. Has to pick spots better but he can stroke it from three. – 22 points, 5 rebounds
Eli Pancol
6’1 – SG – 2019
Pancol was the first guy off the bench for Pendleton. He worked hard in this game and at times he looked like a freshman but was able to get the gritty work done down low. PH doesn’t have size and for that matter, really a post presence. Pancol gave them that even though he’s got the look of a guard. Eli is strong for a freshman and he made plays down low because of that. He scored a couple buckets on straight rebound putbacks. The others were cuts to the basket where he was able to curl down off screens and catch and finish. Right now, this is good to see him so active and involved. He’ll transition more to a perimeter player as he gets older. – 13 points, 4 rebounds
Trent Miller
6’0 – SG – 2018
This was good game to see for Miller who has been hurt as far back as I can remember. Missed entire summer with injury so wasn’t sure what to expect. He looked better than I thought and much more of a scoring guard that just a straight up shooter like he was in his freshman season. Trent isn’t the biggest kid physically but was able to handle the Anderson guards on his interior drives. Trent looked comfortable driving and was able to control the dribble well into the paint. If he can show this again and again it would go a long way to helping round out his game. – 10 points, 6 rebounds
Anderson:
Romello Williams
6’3 – SG – 2016
Romello was the best player for Anderson on this night. The 6’3 wing was aggressive and kept his motor going the whole game. Without Dionte Raines, Anderson needed someone to take over a lot of the scoring opportunities and Williams did well with it. He was focused on quick strikes before the defense could get setup. Romello is pretty athletic and agile so he was really effective getting all the way to the rim. Has to work on his finishing though as his few misses at the rim were just bunnies, which is a little nitpicky as he went 6/10 from the field. – 14 points, 6 rebounds
Marquavius Beverly
6’5 – PF – 2018
Beverly is a guy to watch this next summer. Playing a little out of position in this game, Marquavius is probably a stretch forward because of his agility and athleticism. Looks comfortable on the wing but he’ll have an interesting path to follow as he is pretty effective in the paint. Was the best rebounder in this one hands down and did all of his work off of that. Strong hands and good finishing ability through contact. Similar game to Emannuel Little of North Central. Neither, to this point, have shown the ability to shoot but they can be comfortable playing away from the rim and be extremely effective at the rim. – 5 points, 6 rebounds
