Middletown and Tuscarora each came away with impressive victories late last week. For Middletown, it was a 68-53 victory over Urbana while Tuscarora crushed Catoctin, 93-50.
The Frederick News-Post reported that Middletown rode the hot shooting of Matt Considine to its victory over Urbana. Considine buried seven three-points and ended up with 23 points overall in the victory.
He led the offense and got help from Clay Smith (nine assists) and Lucas Price (nine points) as the Knights moved to 12-2 this season.
Cody Kastner and Trey Lucas paced Urbana with 14 points apiece but it was not enough.
Jaylen Washington led the way for Tuscarora. The News-Post said that Washington finished with 18 points, nine rebounds, five assists and three steals, a busy night that helped the Titans go to 11-2.
The winners also got help from John Chaney, who posted 16 points and seven rebounds, and Isaiah Tillman (12 points, eight rebounds and three blocks).
Those top three players combined for 46 of the team’s points and nearly outscored Catoctin all by themselves.
Jared Pawlus topped Catoctin with 16 points.
