The 5’9” floor general is effective on the defensive end putting constant pressure on guards and turning them into directions they don’t want to go. Smith is quick twitched with the ball getting in the lane with relative ease and makes regular trips to the charity stripe. The jump shot can be a bit streaky at times, but overall is a solid mid-range guy in the pull up game. Has drive and kick ability. Works well in the pick and roll. Needs to be on the low-major radar.
Smith talked about his game and how it evolved this summer on the circuit.
“I think it helped me a lot. With Team Rose they let me play my game. Let me play with my speed which is my best attribute. I think that helped coming back over here playing with Fenwick.”
What is going on with recruiting?
“Colombia just started talking to me. Dartmouth and Drake. Those are the three that have been hard.”
He took an official visit to Dartmouth.
“It went well. It was something different. With the Ivy League you think nerdy, but it was really fun and diverse which was something I didn’t think was like that.”
Smith doesn’t have a timetable on decision. The high academic lead guard is one of the most underrated prospects in the state.
