“A lot of coaches say they need a pure center, and I don’t have the height of a pure center but I do have the strength,” Tennant said. “That’s the common concurrence is they say that I’m a grind-it-out guy, and I can bring energy to the game.”
This has brought the No. 100 recruit in the Prep Hoops Indiana Top 200 plenty of attention and multiple offers, too. Tennant has heard from Huntington University, Anderson University, Bluffton College, Hope College, Elmhurst College, and has offers from Goshen College and IU South Bend.
He has already visited the majority of the schools, but he is holding off on making a final choice.
“I’m not quite ready to make a decision yet and I told all the colleges that I’m going to wait until after the basketball season. It’s just my personal preference,” he said.
This gives him time to continue improving his game as he tries to help himself and Snider to a successful season. He says he is always working on improving in the weight room and being able to get lower to the ground to battle bigger kids, but he is also trying to round out his game.
“I need to work on my ball handling, it’s probably my biggest weakness right now,” Tennant said. “Then I need to work on my shooting a little bit. It’s more a confidence thing than a shooting thing because in practice I can shoot all day long, just need to work on confidence in shooting.”
