Continue ReadingWhitney Young 2016 point guard Derrick Freeman is the Dolphins top senior prospect. He is a 6’0” combo guard that brings the most value on the defensive end. He pressures the basketball and gets deflections. Offensively gets to the line at a solid rate. Most likely a D3/NAIA candidate.
Freeman broke down his game.
“My game is very aggressive. I am faster than most people that are guarding me. I like to get in the paint and kick out to my shooters. Make the open shots. More shifty getting in the paint type of guard.”
He ran with Team Rose on the travel team circuit. What is the latest with recruiting?
“Recruiting is very slow. A lot of D2 and D3 programs looking at me. I am going to play the season out. I haven’t really displayed what I can do.”
A few schools have been talking to the senior.
“I have been in contact with Lake Forest, IIT, Monmouth, Knox, and a lot of local D3’s”
