“Every once in awhile I’ll hear from a coach,” said Shclee. “I’ve heard from a couple D3 coaches, but that’s not really what I’m looking for.”
“So I’ve recently started taking my recruitment a lot more seriously. I’ve gone online and have looked for some agencies that will help me get recruited. And now I’m looking for a really good AAU team that will help me get exposure. Just stuff like that.”
The 6-foot-5 power forward will be seeking a grassroots team, that will generate some necessary exposure for him during his 17U season.
He’s a guy that will bring some inside toughness, and an outside threat to any team.
“I would probably say finishing through contact and finishing around the rim is my strength. I just feel that if I get the ball around the rim, I can put the ball in the hoop. I know that 6’5 isn’t that big at the next level, so I’ve been working a lot on my outside game too,” said Schlee.
“My ball-handling has gotten better, but my shot has really gotten so much more better than my ball-handling has. I’ve been shooting more in games, and I’ve seen the improvement.”
So far this season with Bears, Schlee is averaging 19.5 points, and 7 rebounds per game.
“They’re pretty much just asking me to give my best effort, and I’m just trying to be an all-around guy; rebound, defense, shoot the ball, attack the rim,” he said. “I guess I kind of just do everything.”
