The 6-foot prospect has been hearing from Division III programs since we talked to him last summer, and he says there is one in particular that he considers his front-runner.
“I went on a visit to Albright and then Penn State-Harrisburg,” said Wourman. “And right now I’m leaning towards Albright, they’re at the top right now for me.”
He added: “They are more well established as a basketball program, and academically they’re a better school, they have better programs. And it’s not too far from home either.”
Wourman says he will wait until after his senior season to make his final decision.
“I’m still waiting to see if I can maybe pick up some interest from D2 schools,” said Wourman. “Or maybe get some more money from some schools that are already looking at me.”
In the meantime, the talented senior is continuing to develop as a player, and says his ball-handling, and creating separation is something he’ll continue to hone this winter.
“My outside shot has gotten a little better, defensively I’ve gotten a little better too, and I’m finishing stronger too, while getting to the rim,” said Wourman.
“Creating my own shot better is something I’ll continue to work on, finishing above the rim, and I’m still working on my outside shot and creating my own shot.”
As the first guy off the bench for an 8-3 Jaguars squad, Wourman says his role is to score and to play stout defense.
“So far I’m playing great defensively, and offensively I need to pick it up and be more aggressive,” he said. “My coach is looking to me to add more offense – I’d like to average 12 points per game before the season is over. And just try to get championships in state, regionals and county – those are my main goals right now.”
