Continue ReadingMaine South 2016 center Brad Perry is a big bodied post that will contribute at the next level. He isn’t a great athlete, but knows how to get the job done inside. At probably about 6’8” Perry is a space eater that seals well inside and has soft hands receiving the basketball. At times brings the ball too low and gets it stripped. Perry is a solid area rebounder. Nice D3/NAIA candidate.
He talked about what his role is on the team and what he feels he can bring at the next level.
“My goal is to go out there get rebounds and finish when I can. Coach always tells me if I get it on the block go up and score. I feel like I am not exactly where I want to be, but I am going to get there. I am building on it every single game. I am the anchor on the defense. Getting defensive rebounds and looking up court for our guards. It all circulates back to rebounds. That’s where I either get my second chance points or outlets.”
On the travel team circuit he ran with Team NLP alongside his high school teammate.
“We lost in the D2 national championship on a buzzer beater. It was great. Me and Jon (Arenas) played well together. We got better as a team. It was great for me and him. It was like another three and a half months of us playing together. It built our chemistry up.”
He updated us on his recruitment.
“Right now a lot of D3 schools. I have heard from Carthage, Augustana, St. Norbert’s, St. John’s, Illinois Wesleyan, and a handful of others.”
