Along with Steffan Musoke and Will Alexander, who have each committed to MIAC programs St. Thomas and St. John’s, respectively, the trio have led Rogers to a 6-5 record and a 1-0 start in the Mississippi 8 conference.
One obstacle Rogers has faced is that the three seniors mentioned are the only ones with any real varsity experience.
“It’s going pretty well,” he said. “We’re a young team with only three returning varsity players. But we play with a lot of energy and we have great team chemistry!”
In addition to doing his best to help Rogers, Wilson is also considering a mix of post-grad options.
“I definitely want to play basketball in college at a D1 school,” Wilson said. “I’ve gotten letters from D2s and some D1s. I took an unofficial visit to NDSU.”
Wilson is still improving in many aspects. He feels that his best option may very well be to take a spring/summer season of post-grad grassroots ball.
“I’m working on being quicker, improving my defense, my dribble pull-up, jump shot, and ball handling,” Wilson said. “My strengths are creating for others, drawing the defense, and scoring.”
